From Heraklion Airport, follow the signs towards Rethymno and then continue south towards Plakias. From Chania International Airport (CHQ), Plakias is approximately 95 km away, with a driving time of around 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours. Follow the national road towards Rethymno and then continue south towards Plakias. From Heraklion Port, Plakias is approximately 110 km away, with a driving time of around 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours by car. From Chania Port, the distance is approximately 100 km, with a driving time of around 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours. Plakias can also be reached by public bus, usually via Rethymno, where you can connect to a bus towards Plakias. Bus schedules vary depending on the season, so we recommend checking the latest timetable before travelling. Taxi and private transfer services are also available from Heraklion or Chania Airport and from the ports. If you would like assistance arranging a private transfer, please contact us in advance. Once you arrive in Plakias, the village centre, restaurants, cafés, shops and the beach are all easily accessible. A car is recommended if you would like to explore the beautiful south coast of Crete and its surrounding beaches and villages. Hello, I’m Eleni, the owner and host of Maple Villas.
Crete has always held a special place in my heart, and I’m very happy to share a little part of this beautiful island with our guests. Maple Villas is a family project, created with great care and attention to detail, with the aim of offering a peaceful and comfortable place to stay while experiencing the authentic beauty of southern Crete.
What I love most about Plakias is its unique combination of natural beauty, relaxed atmosphere and genuine Cretan hospitality. Beyond the beautiful beaches, there are wonderful villages, local traditions, hidden places and simple moments that make a stay here truly memorable.
I personally enjoy helping our guests discover Crete through the places, experiences and little details that we love ourselves. I speak English and I am always available to help with anything you may need before or during your stay, from recommendations and local tips to any questions or assistance that may make your stay more comfortable.
